As the second season of the Yuvaa Icon Awards is all set to begin, astrologer and healer Rinhee Suberwal and her husband Pramod Kumar, who are the organisers of the awards, shared that it's more than an award night for them. They shared it's a mission and a platform to honor not just youth but also those whose ideas and journeys remain forever young and inspiring.
“The Yuvaa Icon Awards are not just for the youth of our nation but also for those who have youthful and innovative ideas no matter their age. It's about their ventures, their journeys, and their spirit. We warmly welcome everyone who shares this passion,” Rinhee said.
For Rinhee and Pramod, the Yuvaa Icon Awards had to go beyond the glitter of trophies and stage lights. “The main organizers of this event are me and Pramod, my husband. We came up with the idea of the Yuvaa Icon Awards because we noticed that while there are many award functions happening around the world, most of them don’t seem to have a real purpose or concept behind them. We always believe in working with a clear concept, and that’s what makes this event different,” she said.
While the award itself instills a sense of pride, it is something more personal for Rinhee. She said, "The name Yuvaa Icon Awards is very special to us. It comes from the names of our two sons—our elder son is Yuvaan, and our younger son is Aangad. This is very meaningful and fortunate for us. Also, Yuvaan is another name for Lord Shiva, and we are strong believers in Shiva. That’s why this name felt perfect for the event. It carries both personal and spiritual significance for us."
The second season of the Yuvaa Icon Awards promises a grand celebration with participants from across the country. She said, “Awardees are coming from places like Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, and many other cities. We are truly excited and overwhelmed by the amazing response we’ve received so far. There is so much talent in India. Because our country has a huge population, it is both an advantage and a disadvantage."
"We have many skilled people, but not everyone gets the right chance or platform to meet genuine people or to get noticed. That is exactly why we are creating this platform to give opportunities to many talented people,” she added. The chief guest of the event is Meenakshi Sheshadri, and it is going to be an extravaganza of culture and celebration.
Rinhee shared, "Jayati Bhatia, a very well-known actor and also my maasi, is part of this event. This award function was her idea along with ours to help people and at the same time create a space for ourselves. We have worked very hard over the years in a genuine way, without compromising our values."
The second edition will also see a new award segment. She said, "We are also launching the Manjul Priya Awards, dedicated to my grandmother, who passed away two months ago. It was her dream to support the underprivileged, and she always did so throughout her life. She was a Padma Shri nominee and a very well-known artist in West Bengal and Chhattisgarh. This award is a huge tribute to her. We will miss her deeply, but we are proud to be her children and to carry forward her values."
For Rinhee and Pramod, the Yuvaa Icon Awards are not about glamour for its own sake, but about meaning. “My husband, Pramod Kumar, is truly the backbone of this event. He is performing with some of our underprivileged students. Many of these students are not highly trained or professional dancers, but they have always dreamed of experiencing a life like this—being part of a big stage and seeing celebrities up close. They would often tell me, ‘Ma’am, hum kab milenge, hum kab dekhenge, koi humse baat karega bhi kya?’ This is exactly why we planned this. We wanted our underprivileged students to meet celebrities, gain confidence, and feel more positive about life,” she said. She went on to thank her team and said, "Without them, I am nothing. I truly have no ego about this because I know people grow with the help of their team. Sadly, many forget the people who helped them once they succeed. But as a healer, I always stay conscious and remember everyone who has supported my journey. I will always be like this." She called it a unique event and shared that as a healer, she believes in setting a different benchmark for society, and her husband shares the same vision. "We are life partners and business partners, and we never think only in commercial terms—we always think about how to benefit society. While many people hire professional dancers to make their events look glamorous, we have chosen to work with people who make us feel special and who make our journey meaningful,” Rinhee concluded.
